Infrared thermography is a beneficial tool for preforming wildlife census inspections. Many municipalities, parks and agriculture operations are plagued with overpopulation. Our experience has shown that in order to accurately count the thermal signature of an animal; it is necessary to fly transects over a given area, taking care to minimize overlapping areas. GPS coordinates of the site are entered into a moving map display, ensuring the helicopter maintains course. Once the area has been surveyed and recorded, the footage is analyzed by one of our lab technicians.  The thermographer will view the footage and process census.
